1 Priority as identified in the State Wildlife Action Plan and its list of Species of Greatest Conservation Concern (for more information on SWAP, see http://www.outdooralabama.com/research-mgmt/swcs/).
2 Alabama endemic.
3 No occurrence record in ALNHP database but the US Fish & Wildlife Service ( http://www.fws.gov/daphne/es/specieslst.html#Tuscaloosa) lists this species as occurring in Tuscaloosa County.
4 Historic occurrence. 5 The Bald Eagle was removed from the Federal List of Endangeredand Threatened Wildife (delisted) June 2007, but is still protected by provisions of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. For further information and guidelines on bald eagle protocol, go to: http://www.fws.gov/southeast/es/baldeagle/6 Listed by USFWS as Endangered in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina; not listed elsewhere. 7 Listed as a species of concern by the National Marine Fisheries Service (Federal Register 69(73):19975-19979, available at http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/pr/pdfs/fr/fr64-19975.pdf) 8 Polydon spathula protected by Regulations 220-2-.94, page 63, and 220-2-.43, page 62, of the Alabama Regulations for 2007-2008 on Game, Fish, and Fur Bearing Animals. 9 Reported from the county, but not likely part of an established, self-sustaining population 10 The USFWS lists Pleurobema furvum as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. ALNHP considers P. furvum a synonym of P. rubellum following the taxonomy used by James D. Williams, Arthur E. Bogan, and Jeffrey T. Garner in Freshwater Mussels of Alabama & the Mobile Basin in Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee (2008). 11 Protected under Alabama Game, Fish and Wildlife Laws, Section 9-11-269.
