10 The USFWS lists Pleurobema furvum as endangered under the Endangered Species Act. ALNHP considers P. furvum a synonym of P. rubellum following the taxonomy used by James D. Williams, Arthur E. Bogan, and Jeffrey T. Garner in Freshwater Mussels of Alabama & the Mobile Basin in Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee (2008).
