Alabama endemic.
The Bald Eagle was removed from the Federal List of Endangeredand Threatened Wildife (delisted) June 2007, but is still protected by provisions of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act. Historic occurrence.
Polydon spathula protected by Regulations 220-2-.94, page 63, and 220-2-.43, page 62, of the Alabama Regulations for 2007-2008 on Game, Fish, and Fur Bearing Animals.
Reported from the county, but not likely part of an established, self-sustaining population
