No occurrence record in ALNHP database but the US Fish & Wildlife Service (http://www.fws.gov/daphne/es/specieslst.html#Limestone) lists this species as occurring in Limestone County.
Historic occurrence.
Listed Endangered rangewide (Alabama and Tennessee). PXN - Proposed experimental nonessential population that would extend from the mouth of Long Branch, Lawrence County, Tennessee (Shoal Creek mile (CM) 41.7 (66.7 kilometers (km)), downstream to the backwaters of the Wilson Reservoir at Goose Shoals, Lauderdale County, Alabama (approximately CM 14 (22 km)), and would include the lower 5 CM (8 km) of all tributaries that enter this reach (Federal Register 29(203):61774-61784 - available online at http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=2004_register&docid=fr21oc04-16.pdf)
Polydon spathula protected by Regulations 220-2-.94, page 63, and 220-2-.43, page 62, of the Alabama Regulations for 2007-2008 on Game, Fish, and Fur Bearing Animals.
