Information RequestsThe Alabama Natural Heritage Program (ALNHP) maintains a comprehensive database of the rare plant and animal species and selected natural communities in Alabama. It is the only comprehensive and centralized database of its kind in Alabama. The BCD has been built using data collected by Heritage scientists and from available information from museums, herbaria, results from independent, federal and state research projects, and cooperative efforts with industry. As new information is obtained, the database is continuously updated and improved.
